Gluten Free Reuben Sandwich

Tangy, cheesy, and oh-so-satisfying, this gluten free Reuben Sandwich is comfort food with a deli twist. Layered with juicy pastrami, creamy Thousand Island dressing, and the zing of sauerkraut, all toasted to perfection between slices of our Buckwheat & Chia Bread, it’s a flavour-packed classic you can enjoy any day of the week.

Makes: 1 sandwich

Reuben Sandwich Recipe

 

Ingredients

  • 2 slices Well and Good Buckwheat & Chia Bread
  • Butter (for outer sides)
  • Thousand Island dressing
  • 2 slices Jarlsberg cheese
  • 4 slices pastrami or corned beef
  • ¼ cup sauerkraut, well drained

Assembly

  1. Butter the outside of each bread slice.
  2. Spread dressing on the inside of both slices.
  3. Place cheese on one slice, then pastrami, then sauerkraut.
  4. Top with second slice, buttered side facing out.
  5. Grill in a sandwich press or pan until golden and melty.
  6. Slice and serve skewered with a dill pickle.
