Marble Cake Mix
Gluten Free Marble Cake

There’s something special about marble cake that makes it hard to resist. Cooking them is also a lot of fun, especially for the kids; you never know how the final cake will look! This cake mix includes a separate chocolate sachet to create a cool looking marbled effect and also choc icing. We’ve taken care of everything so that creating this cake is child’s play.

Ingredients: Gluten free flour mix (potato starch, rice flour, tapioca flour), sugar, thickeners (no GMO modified tapioca starch, xanthan gum, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, hydroxypropylmethylcellulose), maltodextrin, raising agents (non aluminium) (sodium acid pyrophosphate, sodium bicarbonate), alkalised cocoa powder, vegetable emulsifiers (polyglycerol esters of fatty acids, mono and diglycerides of fatty acids, sodium stearoyl lactylate), natural flavours, iodised salt, natural colour (beta carotene)

Frosting Mix:(16.3%) {icing mixture [sugar, maize or tapioca starch, thickener (non GMO modified tapioca starch)], tapioca starch, alkalised cocoa powder}.

What you need to make gluten free Marble Cake
For Cake For Swirl
  • 1 packet choc swirl (provided)
  • 2 Tbsp boiling water (30ml)
For Icing
  • 1 packet choc icing (provided)
  • 75g soft margarine
Method 
For Cake
  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (160°C fan forced)
  2. Grease or line a 20cm round or equivalent rectangular tin.
  3. In a large bowl combine eggs and margarine with marble cake mix and beat with electric mixer for about 1 minute. 
  4. Pour the batter into prepared cake tin.
  5. In a small bowl combine choc swirl sachet and water then combine. 
  6. Pour the chocolate swirl on top of the mix in the tin, gently swirl and fold with a fork.
  7. Set to bake for 35-45 minutes. Rest for 5min in the cake tin, then place on a wire rack to cool.
For Icing
  1. In a bowl combine icing mixture with margarine, mix with hand mixer until icing is a smooth and creamy consistency.
  2. Allow cake to cool and then spread over icing with a spatula or broad knife.
Tip: Insert a skewer into the middle of the cake to check consistency, if the skewer is clean, your cake is ready to come out of the oven.
